Before Leaving on her run, a few of Anns friends got together for a little get together. Following is a card she received which she wanted to have posted for all to see:
"... and then the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom" Anais Nin
Inside the card read:
"Ann, What to say to you as you begin the journey of a lifetime.
May the road be smooth and fraught with little peril.
May the body remain strong and in good health.
May you experience freedom, joy, and exhilaration with every step you take.
May you be surrounded by peace and beauty in all moments.
May the love of those that hold you dear keep your heart warm and your thoughts fresh.
And may that love always surround you"
Another friend (yours truly, the site administrator) gave her a few little gag gifts, along with some notes, which Ann wanted posted here, but my Husband went through a little cleaning spree and threw them away (Sorry Ann!)
Hi Ann! And congratulations on embarking on a wonderful journey! We will be following your success and adventures on the intranet! My husband Terry (from Carrington) and I wish you good health and nice weather! When I met you last year I could tell that you are a pretty amazing lady but WOW how incredible to do a trip like this! Way to go and all the best! :-)
Thanks and have a great day!

Hi Ann,
I saw your RV at the Salisbury truck stop this a.m. I saw the sign on the RV and decided to log on . All I can say is wow !! 47 km and 65kms a day . My knees just ache thinking about it .
When I go for my run today , a mere 8km. I will think of you and your cause .
I hope you and Darkie have a successful journey.

Good Day Ann!
I certainly hope it's a good day for you; weather wise and health wise. You sure have a lot of tenacity. You remind me of the bubble bee who not knowing that physics says it would be impossible for his little wings to support his body weight while flying, he does it anyway. I am so proud of what you are doing and am amazed all at the same time. I wish you well on your journey, friend. I pray for your safe keeping and that through your efforts, others lives will be made better. Hope to see you in Winnipeg, if only for a moment as you run through. Stay well!
Kind Regards,
Sherry Hoppe
